Hotel Maintenance Attendant

Location: Super 8 Hotel
Reports To: Maintenance Manager / General Manager
Position Type: Part-Time

Position Summary

The Hotel Maintenance Attendant is responsible for performing routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure guest rooms and public areas are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This is a hands-on position that supports daily hotel operations by responding to maintenance requests quickly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Room & Public Area Repairs

  • Perform minor plumbing repairs (leaky faucets, clogged drains, toilet repairs)
  • Replace light fixtures, bulbs, outlets, and switches
  • Repair drywall, paint touch-ups, and minor cosmetic damage
  • Troubleshoot basic HVAC issues
  • Repair or replace door locks, hinges, and hardware
  • Maintain lobby, hallways, and exterior areas
Preventative Maintenance

  • Assist with preventative maintenance schedules
  • Inspect guest rooms and equipment for potential issues
  • Perform routine filter changes and equipment checks
  • Help maintain grounds, parking lot, and exterior appearance
Work Orders & Communication

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from front desk or housekeeping
  • Document completed work orders
  • Communicate larger repair needs to management
  • Assist outside vendors when necessary
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the property for extended periods
Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
  • Previous maintenance or handyman experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
